During his high school years, David was not only recognized for his musical abilities, but received several awards and honors for his paintings and drawings. David graduated as valedictorian from Ohio's Performing Arts High School and continued his education at The Ohio State University (OSU). He earned a double Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and in Music Composition, and later received his Masters of Music in Composition. David started his Doctorate at OSU, but was motivated to move to the entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles, California.
David began his journey that led him to composing and producing music for all of the major networks, as well as for Steven Spielberg and the new original music for the Disneyland theme parks in Paris and Tokyo. He has also written seven complete musicals, including one that ran off-Broadway and was nominated for two Grammy awards. David has also performed for four separate United States Presidents (Ford, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton), as well as a concert for Boris Yeltsin in Russia and several performances on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show.
After 20 years in Los Angeles, David moved back to Ohio to be with his extended family and to finish his Doctorate in Music Composition, which was completed in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Music Industry program at Delaware State University, where he loves teaching and assisting talented artists find their place in the world.
David is very happy and content that he is now composing music on a regular basis and creating new musicals with hopes of them opening on Broadway and other musical outlets. He is also re-launching his record label Us Records, which remained idle while finishing his Doctorate. This new stage in his life has encouraged him to produce new recordings and concertize again. David has many dreams and plans for the future to further express his love of music.
